Hi everyone, I'm new to building amplifiers and I am working on my first 4W single ended amp. The schematics call for an output transformer with a primary impedance of ohm and 8ohm secondary. I have actually found it difficult to find one to those actual specs but I figure that I could use a transformer with primary ohm with a 16 ohm speaker and it would essentially be the same thing because what I'm really looking for is a single ended output transformer with a So I settled on a classic tone Is this logic correct?

It likely doesn't matter whether you get very close to ohms. Potentially, would be "ideal" but you can use something else and it will work fine. It's also possible isn't "perfect anyways" and was chosen as a result of whatever the circuit designer had access to.
